The Historical Society has entered a new era of service to the Community. We are actively working to redesign our exhibits and to expand our scope of activities, which will enhance our ability to achieve our mission, and to better serve the people of Tarpon Springs.

The Depot Museum emphasizes the important role the railroad played in the growth of the town. The front rooms of the building have been restored to "be as they were" when it was a working railroad station. The rest of the facility  contains exhibits on  education, health care, local institutions, and many more. The Society has developed an educational program designed to offer local school children an opportunity to learn about the history of the community through a stimulating visit to the Depot Museum. The Museum has been named an official Welcome Center on Tarpon Avenue to help visitors to our city have a more pleasant stay in town. Its refurbished meeting space is available for community events.

Please review our Events Calendar before planning your weekend. We offer a variety of special events, such as art shows, lectures, fashion shows, luncheons, historical tours, and many others.

The facility is available on a limited basis for rentals of associated or complementary events. Please contact the office at 727.943.4624 or email us at
Tarpon.Historical@Verizon.net with details of your event to determine availability.
